Abuse of any sort is a serious problem. One form of abuse that can affect anyone regardless of age, sex, race, religion, ethnic or cultural background is elder abuse. Elder Abuse is unfortunately one of the more prominent forms of abuse in the United States and it can happen in many different forms. Types of elder abuse include physical, emotional, sexual or financial abuse, neglect and even abandonment. Cases of elder abuse can be difficult to deal with both mentally, emotionally and legally. When an abusive situation has been identified Dr. Patricia Maisano is there to step in and provide expert witness testimony, both plaintiff and defense, with the advocacy of the person in mind.
Dr. Patricia Maisano is an expert on eldercare and finding the best situation to optimize the quality of life of seniors on a case-by-case basis. As a registered nurse she gained the ability to acutely and accurately assess the efficacy of eldercare. She understands the methodology and process behind eldercare with her years of experience as both a Certified Case Manager and Professional Geriatric Care Manager and as a certified member of the American Board of Disability Analysts. And she can relate directly with her clients and situation being a registered guardian herself.
Far too often the elderly are forgotten or left behind. It has been Dr. Maisano’s main goal and focus to target and help those individuals in our society who often do not have a voice in their care or well-being. Dr. Maisano has 20 years of experience as an expert for both sides in dispositions, mediation, non-jury and jury trials and hearings. She continues to advocate, both in and out of the courtroom, for the best medical and life care possible for a population who has no voice in either.
